| | Project Name: | Kilna Bil Hayy | | Start Date:23-05-2009 | End Date:Unlimited Period | | Description: | The Story of Six Different Children . . .
* The TV series Kilna Bil Hayy (All of Us in the Neighbourhood), tells the stories of six children– Armenian, Christian, Druze, Palestinian, Shia, Sunni – living together in an apartment building.
* The children work together to solve problems, guided by Lina, who personifies the conscience of their shared home.
And How They Learn to Live Together . . .
* Only the children can see and hear Lina and it’s up to them to break free from their parents’ patterns.
* Despite the discord and segregation that have left their mark on the country, their families learn to accept their differences and celebrate their commonalities.
| | | Activities: | The 13-part series is a Search for Common Ground initiative.
The first season of Kilna Bil Hayy was produced with funding from the Danish Rockwool Foundation. In addition to the national television broadcast, Search for Common Ground will be implementing the following activities:
* Curricular resources, which will be distributed to schools throughout the country as part of an on-going “listening and problem-solving” Search for Common Ground initiative targeting 8-14 year olds in schools across Lebanon
* In-school activity kits, which will encourage children and youth to practice and reflect on the themes of each episode
