Teams poll residents to identify potential areas of consensus, widely share findings, and guide actions addressing those common concerns – an approach designed to foster the skills, will, and transparency needed for consensus in Lebanon. Model municipalities will reach out to others, using new experience to expand consensus areas to regional/national levels. | | | Activities: | Build the capacity of different individuals in different regions on dialogue, deliberation and consensus skills therefore to be able to determine by consensus the major issues faced by the community.
Help the local consensus team to adopt an issue faced by their community and advocate for an appropriate solution.
Document the experience as reference for similar projects.
Expand the practice to neighborhood villages by creating similar consensus teams.

| | Project Name: | Lebanese Parliamentary Monitor (LP Monitor) | | Start Date:2006-09-29 | End Date:Unlimited Period | | Description: | The Lebanese Parliamentary Monitor (LPMonitor) seeks to enhance accountability and transparency by establishing a monitor to provide citizens with concrete information on their representatives’ track record on key public policy issues. The information is disseminated to the public through a website at the following address: . The website contains all information collected on the MP’s regarding all public policies, profiles of each MP, electronic forums for debating public and related issues, parliamentary by-laws, a listing of all the laws adopted by the current parliament. The website includes reports sent by MPs as well as interview reports about their priorities. Finally, website visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in sustaining this important effort.
